NVK Design by Natasha Calandrino Van Kleef

Located in Milan, Italy, in an historic building designed in 1912 by Italian architect Paolo Mezzanotte, set within the renowned Isola district, NVK Design is dedicated to planning, renovation and research across the fields of architecture, interior design, exhibition layout, and applied lighting.

Established in 2010, the NVK Design studio develops integrated architectural and design projects for private as well as institutional clients, in residential, commercial, museum, and historic building settings. Making use of its high-profile professional network, the studio works with multi-specialist collaborators to realize a variety of site-specific and innovative design and planning solutions.

Inspired by the international Sustainable Development Goals to promote a liveable world for future generations, Italian Dutch architect Natasha Calandrino Van Kleef formulated the Slowdesign Manifesto (2002), together with Italian physicist Gianni Fabri and Italian architects Marco Tronci and Laura Maria Vignati.

A deep respect for our natural world and healthy living practices are the driving forces behind NVK Design which also developed NVK Daydoll in 2010, an ethical fashion brand that produces the highest quality artisanal garments for women who value sustainable beauty and comfortable elegance.

The NVK Daydoll Collection® implements the Slowdesign Manifesto, using ecologically viable and traceable production to create beautifully versatile clothing that is both long-wearing and stylish. This pioneering fashion label has been endorsed by the Italian Health Ministry's prestigious "Textile & Health Project", which independently certifies products and businesses aimed at protecting consumer health and guaranteeing the safety and transparency of textile-clothing products.

Shortly she will launch a new design brand called “Kushim caring design” (together with Riccardo Cavozzi and Silvia Bignami), for inactivating pathogens through indoor processes and furnishing accessories

Natasha Calandrino Van Kleef is also committed to supporting wider cultural and technological developments in ethical design. She is an expert adviser for the Culture and Environment Commission of the City of Milan, and also promotes new brands in fields related to wellness and sustainability.
